Hi all!

There will be slight changes starting this week. All junior lessons will now be held on Thursday 6-9pm. Juniors that used to attend lessons on Wednesday, your lessons will now be held on Thursday. Training venue will remain the same.

For Advanced/Senior members, training will be held on Wednesday 6-9pm as well as Thursday 3-5pm.

For those who have are coming for the camp, remember that the meeting time for camp is 2pm on the 6th of September. Venue is Block E. Don't be late.

Camp Briefings and other Detials

For those who are interested in joining the camp in September but do not have the indemnity form, you can obtain it outside the club room. There will be a second camp briefing for those who missed the first one on Monday 8th of August.

For the camp, you are not allowed to leave in the middle of camp unless accompanied with a valid reason. Also if you are unable to stay overnight due to parent's objections, a parent letter is needed for justification.

Training will officially resume on the second week of September. Training venue and the time will be the same.

Just for clarification, the current Ensemble has been spilt into two groups, with one group having their practice on every Wednesday 7-9pm and the other group having it every Thursday 7-9pm.

Please do stick to one date and do not come for both as they will be basically teaching the same. Also please do not just change dates on a whim (i.e coming on Thursday on one week and then coming on Wednesday on another.) as it will be difficult for the instructors that will be teaching you.

Hey all!

There's two events coming up and they requested for help, mainly the SR Nathan Cup and the Youth Sports Conference.

For the SR Nathan Cup, they need helpers on the 19th of March and the bus leaves at 4PM.

For the Youth Sports Conference, you've got to be below 18 years old and its between 25th - 27th of May.

Those that are interested in either events, please inform Chun Hui, latest by this Friday 19th March 2010.

If no one replies, I'll take it that no one wants to help.

ANTICIPATE La Guitare Concert 2009

The La Guitare Concert is a major event held annually by the Nanyang Polytechinic Guitar Club. The concert holds a different theme each year and exhibits the efforts of the guitar ensemble throughout the year of practicing and learning the music pieces.This year 2009, the music theme of the concert is playing different genres of guitar music ranging from classy waltz to bossa nova. The design theme for the concert is ANTICIPATE and the word is chosen to generate interest and curiosity in the public so that they will look forward to the concert event. Red is the colour scheme for this year’s concert and the designs revolve around the theatre curtains. This year's La Guitare Concert aims at a grand and classic look and feel as promised by the guitar music.

NYP Adventure Club, will be organising a series of sporting events for 2nd semester AY09/10. They will appreciate if wecan assist to pass on this information. I have the attached files. Alternatively, you can also collect them from Student Affairs Office (Block E level 4) as well as from outside Adventure Club room F219.

For payment, please come to Student Affairs Office. Payment will be via NETS only.

NYP Climb-Run 2009
In it's 3rd year running, NYP Climb-run is by far one of the toughest short distance race that NYP has. Racers can expect to race pass many parts of NYP campus and find out many stairsway which they have never knew existed. For those who have taken part in the race, you will realise that the route is slightly different this year. What's more, sponsors such as active health (distributor for BSc compression clothing) and Advance lap (owner of sports and adventure watch shop) will be here to promote their products at discounted prize. We will have a mini carnival such as dunking machine, archery try out on that day.

SYNERGY - NYP Adventure Race (Pure Endurance)
SYNERGY - NYP Adventure Race is one of it's kind multi-discipline race that takes the form of expect the unexpected race format. The race route will not be disclose to participants even until you start the race. So what you see is what you get. Be surprise by the intensity of the race as race participants will be expected to run, cycle, kayak, swim and attempt mystery team test that is design to test the team cohesion and team endurance. Just by finishing is already a hugh accomplishment!

Canteen 2 Canteen Relay (a.k.a C2C Relay)
Canteen 2 Canteen Relay, or in short C2C relay, is a brand new event hoping to take a firm place in NYP sporting calendar. C2C relay will involve a team of 6 males and 4 females attempting to run as many laps (in relay style) around NYP North Garden (between North Canteen and Fast food canteen) within 1 hour. The winning team will be the team that clock the most number of laps! It promise to fast, noisy and exciting. Come get you club members together to form a team. It's not just about the challenge. It's about the Camaraderie and the fun that you will get involving your club in the event. Forther more, we have prizes for the best dress team!! Join us at the party in NYP North Garden!!

NYP had implemented the e-learning system from 29th to 5th july 09.
This exercise involved all students to stay away from campus. Therefore school starts on 6th July. As some of the students who have common tests being pushed back to week 12 or 13.

To all,

Classical and acoustic guitar.
- NYP GC is a classical guitar ensemble. So, we greatly appreciate you guys use classical guitars. This is one reason why we emphasis on “classical guitar”. Apart from that, the instructor is quite strict with regards to the guitar we use.

- Acoustic guitars are acceptable(temporary) for enrichment classes however it is not a long term solution. When enrichment classes end and come to ensemble practice, we will make it compulsory for classical guitars.

Election of juniors through interview.
-The interview sessions allow us to be able to decide on our juniors intake based on a few criteria such as committment, ability and time management.
The intake is decided 1st by our criteria and followed by a first come first served basis. An sms asking for the confirmation of the vacancies offered were sent out by the 1st of may to all who were selected to join our junior intake.
Those who failed to reply were considered to have forfeited their vacancies to other interested freshmens on our waiting list.
Our intake vacancies for the enrichment classes is full and closed already.
Those who are joining us have been informed and the name list have been posted up (post date Fri, 1st May) in our blog.
Please check the namelist if u are unsure whether you have been selected.

We hope to seek ur kind understanding should there be any miscommunication or confusion caused.
